Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, restaurant management or equivalent preferred
  • minimum 3 years' experience in relevant food and beverage leadership role
  • level 1 certification of Court of Master Sommelier or equivalent
  • food handler and alcohol awareness certification if applicable
  • proven expertise in budgeting, expense and inventory management
  • experience with payroll and labor costing
  • skilled in staffing and marketing
  • ability to maintain integrity and discretion in difficult situations
  • independent judgement skills
  • systems knowledge including Avero, Aloha, Micros, ADP, eTime
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, restaurant management or equivalent field preferred
  • minimum 3 years' experience as a restaurant assistant general manager or assistant director of food and beverage
  • level 1 certification of Court of Master Sommelier or equivalent experience
  • food handler and alcohol awareness certification if applicable
  • excellent skills in budgeting, expense management, inventory, payroll, labor costing, staffing, marketing, owner relations, and profit and loss management
  • ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people with integrity
  • ability to interpret a variety of instructions and exercise independent judgement
  • proven knowledge and experience with Avero, Aloha, Micros, ADP, eTime or combination thereof
  • strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite

Job Duties

  • Attend property meetings
  • develop and lead managers within food and beverage
  • understand the property's sales and public relations strategies
  • assist chefs on menu engineering such as seasonal specials
  • assist with training and communication to all staff
  • lead and coordinate planning and execution of special events on and off property
  • ensure all staff have completed required trainings and certifications
  • assist the Director of Food and Beverage with projects
  • interview, hire, and train employees
  • plan, assign, and direct work
  • appraise performance
  • reward and coach employees
  • address complaints and resolve issues
  • work with the restaurant, in-room dining, bar, and banquet teams
