Job Requirements

  • education from accredited culinary program or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years culinary staff leadership experience preferably in a high-volume or union environment
  • RI Food Safety Certification required or willingness to obtain within one year
  • strong customer service orientation
  • ability to operate web-based ordering systems
  • proficiency with MS Office suite including Word and Excel
  • ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • willingness to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community
  • successful completion of background check and education verification

Job Qualifications

  • degree from accredited culinary school or program or equivalent education and culinary experience
  • demonstrated understanding of culinary principles and techniques
  • 3-5 years of experience leading culinary staff preferably in a high-volume or union environment
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • experience with sustainable food practices
  • proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel
  • experience with menu and recipe management systems preferred
  • RI Food Safety Certification or willingness to obtain within one year
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • demonstrated ability to support diversity and inclusion initiatives

Job Duties

  • oversee daily administrative, operational, and culinary tasks of residential dining production team
  • manage financial aspects including budgeting and sales analysis
  • ensure sanitation and safety compliance for food production and service
  • motivate, train, develop, and direct culinary staff to meet operational goals
  • develop and update menus and recipes for daily service and special events
  • coordinate food presentation standards and quality control
  • collaborate with executive chef and management team to enhance culinary operations
