Job Requirements

  • At least high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years catering sales experience in a hotel senior role
  • Proficiency in computer and office software applications
  • Knowledge of food and beverage health, safety, and liquor laws
  • Training in Delphi or similar systems
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk
  • Professional demeanor
  • Read, write, and interpret business-related documents
  • Able to handle practical problem solving
  • Willing to work outside business hours when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of catering sales experience in a senior role at a high volume 4-star hotel
  • Expert in computer operations, spreadsheets, and word processing
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, health and liquor regulations
  • Training in Delphi or equivalent
  • Certified Meeting Planner (optional)
  • Professional business appearance and attitude
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business and regulatory documents
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to attend external functions

Job Duties

  • Responds to incoming catering leads within 24 hours
  • Presents leads at daily business review meetings
  • Proactively identifies and solicits new business
  • Closes sales opportunities based on market conditions
  • Manages relationships with internal and external customers
  • Assists with food and beverage forecasting
  • Supports sales action plans and account coverage
  • Prepares rolling forecasts for management review
  • Builds relationships through sales calls and site inspections
  • Uses sales resources and staff support effectively
  • Generates contracts and proposals
  • Provides accurate turnover to event services
  • Develops market plans and communication strategies
  • Maintains customer communication and follow-up
  • Represents hotel at sales and marketing functions
  • Conducts site inspections and familiarization trips
  • Maintains ethical standards
  • Understands competitors and market trends
  • Achieves consistent revenue sales goals
  • Creates and updates banquet event orders
  • Coordinates with food and beverage management
  • Ensures departmental and regulatory compliance
