Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in recreation administration, physical education, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of full-time responsibility in a recreation environment reflecting experience in facilities and operations
  • Two years of experience in hiring, mentoring, supervising, scheduling, training and/or evaluating staff
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of employment

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in recreation administration, physical education, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of full-time responsibility in a recreation environment with experience in facilities and operations
  • Two years of experience in hiring, mentoring, supervising, scheduling, training, and/or evaluating staff
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within three months of employment
  • Proficiency with software applications for word processing, membership management, and personnel tracking
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds in an inclusive environment

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership for planning, policies, and staffing in the department
  • Oversee operations and services at Student Recreation Center, Student Tennis Center, and other facilities
  • Direct supervision and evaluation of two Officer of Administration positions and approximately 20 operations student employees
  • Indirect supervision of approximately 80 student employees
  • Make decisions on hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating staff
  • Manage budgetary needs and reviews
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures for facility operations
  • Chair the department Risk Management Team
  • Coordinate comprehensive training programs for operations staff
