Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • minimum five years accounting management experience in hospitality or related industry
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software
  • able to sit at desk and work on computers for extended periods
  • able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • ability to direct a team, perform multitasks, plan proactively, and demonstrate financial competence with strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • minimum five years accounting management experience in hospitality or related industry
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • strong knowledge of Excel
  • familiarity with accounting software packages
  • preferred experience with Oracle, GL Wand, Springer Miller, Track and other financial or hospitality software
  • knowledge of development accounting

Job Duties

  • Review daily revenue and payroll reports for timeliness, accuracy and completeness
  • utilize systems and controls to ensure that the financial goals of the property are met or exceeded, and investigate deviations to safeguard company assets
  • prepare variance reports from budget monthly, coordinate with department heads to determine causes of variances and identify areas of improvement
  • prepare key balance sheet reconciliations and oversee reconciliation activities by teammates
  • oversee month-end inventories, investigate discrepancies and review cost of sale entries
  • produce and review monthly financial statements for timeliness, accuracy and completeness
  • oversee development and real estate accounting functions
  • prepare annual budget and monthly departmental forecast for administrative and non-operational areas
  • act as a liaison between the accounting department and operational departments, training and mentoring department heads
  • model the mission statement and core values at all times
  • maintain professional communication to ensure effective departmental function
  • attend all assigned meetings
  • oversee annual internal and external audits
  • manage bi-weekly check signing, and occasional ACH and wire transfers
  • supervise direct reports including Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Payroll Master, GL Accountants and Income Auditor
  • complete timely and accurate associate performance reviews
  • conduct regular team meetings
  • maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • ensure necessary supplies and equipment are available
  • perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
