Job Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Turf Management or related field
  • State of Florida Certified Pesticide Applicator or ability to obtain certification within 6 months
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a professional groundskeeper
  • Minimum 3 years experience in supervisory role
  • Experience managing baseball field maintenance including grading, raking, rolling, dragging, moisture management
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing irrigation system components
  • Experience communicating with players, coaches, and team staff
  • Experience with minor field construction and renovation
  • Ability to work safely in extended outdoor hours in all weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Turf Management or related field
  • State of Florida Certified Pesticide Applicator or ability to obtain certification within 6 months
  • Active member of Sports Turf Managers Association
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a professional groundskeeper
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in supervisory role
  • Experience managing baseball field maintenance including grading, raking, rolling, dragging, moisture management
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing irrigation system components
  • Experience communicating with players, coaches, and team staff
  • Experience with minor field construction and renovation
  • Ability to work in hands-on outdoor role in all weather conditions for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Implement planned fertility and pesticide applications that comply with Florida Department of Agriculture laws
  • Maintain accurate records of all pesticide and fertilizer applications
  • Assist in proper execution of field preparations including fertilization and pesticide applications
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation-related problems
  • Recruit, train, and effectively supervise staff members
  • Communicate professionally with Director of Field Operations, stadium personnel, management, players, and coaches
  • Ensure all areas of play are properly prepared for daily workouts and games
  • Oversee field tarp placements to prepare for adverse weather
  • Prepare facilities for off-season use by local recreation groups
  • Assist with special event operations and setup
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment on fields and grounds shop
  • Properly maintain all field equipment
  • Perform other related facility maintenance duties as assigned
