Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with dietary restrictions
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred
  • Compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to menus and dietary guidelines
  • Ensure meals meet residents' dietary needs such as diabetic, low-sodium, pureed diets
  • Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food supplies
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines including allergen management
  • Work with dietary team to accommodate special dietary preferences and restrictions
  • Communicate with staff regarding meal service schedules
  • Assist in plating and serving meals as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages
  • Support in cleaning kitchen equipment and utensils after meal preparation
