Job Requirements
- Candidates must be 18 or older
- 21 or older for gaming licensed Beverage Server, Barback, Bartender positions
- must be able to handle physical demands including lifting up to 300 lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking
- must have reading and math skills
- ability to comprehend and communicate in basic English
- willingness to adhere to health and safety regulations
- capacity to operate various kitchen equipment
- ability to organize and prioritize tasks under deadlines
- ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- must be able to complete required coursework or certifications assigned by the state of Colorado or Ameristar Casino
- must demonstrate excellent guest service and teamwork skills
Job Qualifications
- Minimum six months experience in food preparation and food knowledge

- working knowledge of food storage, knife handling, weights and measures, stocks, soups and sauces, plate presentations, recipes and yields
- understanding of health department regulations, sanitation, and safety procedures
- ability to communicate clearly and courteously with guests and team members

- ability to perform all cooking duties
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- completion of any required state or Ameristar Casino certifications
Job Duties
- Conduct oneself in a manner that reflects a positive professional image
- read and understand recipes and measurements
- communicate effectively in basic English with team members
- perform duties within varied temperature ranges
- operate kitchen equipment including slicers, steamers, deep fryers, ovens, broilers, grills, mixers, kettles, and flattops
- lift and carry up to 300 pounds on a continuous schedule
- perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distances
- organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- cook, prepare, dish-up, and assemble food for all outlets
- adhere to food cost and quality control procedures
- complete assigned side work including restocking workstations
- check station setup and cleanliness before, during, and after shifts
- observe all safety and hygiene protocols
- prepare food items according to standard recipes and menus
- handle specialty tasks such as preparing stocks, seafood, sauces, and desserts
- maintain knowledge of at least one station and familiarize with others
- forward shellfish identification cards to supervisor
