The Comanche County Regional Juvenile Detention Center (CCRJDC) is a secure 24-hour lockdown facility located in Lawton, Oklahoma. As a government-operated institution, CCRJDC provides comprehensive care and custody for juvenile detainees, ensuring their safety while addressing their rehabilitative needs. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to pass a drug test as well as a thorough background check, and take a pre-employment physical
- Completion of high school education or GED
- Ability to work a full-time schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays as the facility is open 24/7
Job Qualifications
- High school education or high school equivalent (GED)
- Preference given to individuals with experience in food preparation, menu planning, nutrition, and principles of food management
- Some college or upper-level courses in nutrition preferred
- Ability to comply with county/city Health Department sanitation codes
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a secure facility environment
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
Job Duties
- Prepares balanced meals for the center population according to the designated menu of the facility
- During meals, maintain security, counts all utensils used at each meal and the return of utensils before the residents leave the eating area
- Insures adequate storage of food, maintains kitchen inventory and requests supplies as needed
- Assistant the head cook in planning and providing for the purchase of all necessary food and commodities as determined through inventory, quality, yield and cost
- Assistant the head cook in purchases weekly perishable food needs as determined through inventory meets county/city Health Department sanitation codes
- Cleans and keeps sanitary all areas of the kitchen and storage spaces to meet city/county Health sanitation codes
- Prepares or leaves instructions for the preparation of snacks or in the event that they are required to prepare a meal
- Assists the Head Cook with inventories and in the rotation of stock
- Performs other duties as needed and directed by the Superintendent/Asst. Superintendent
