Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or cooking preferred
  • Ability to operate small and large kitchen equipment
  • Ability to lift frequently and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work cooperatively with others
  • Availability to work school hours from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on school days

  • Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation
  • Knowledge of food service regulations and standards

  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Prepare nutritious food following health regulations and supervisor's direction
  • Ensure that food remains at proper temperature
  • Plan menus, order food and supplies
  • Instruct and train staff as directed
  • Follow safety and sanitation standards
  • Serve food in a timely manner according to portion control requirements
  • Maintain accurate and timely records and manage inventory
