Job Requirements

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 6 months previous experience working with diverse youth populations
  • 6 months experience in youth development or nonprofit sectors
  • 6 months direct experience with school age youth services and youth programs planning
  • ability to motivate youth and manage behavior
  • ability to implement quality youth programs
  • ability to build and maintain youth and parent relationships
  • ability to handle public relations
  • current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • valid state driver's license
  • Spanish speaking highly desired
  • ability to pass drug screening, criminal and driving record checks, and reference checks

Job Qualifications

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 6 months previous experience working with a diverse population of youth
  • 6 months experience in youth development or nonprofit work
  • 6 months direct school age youth service experience
  • demonstrable record of planning and implementing youth programs
  • ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
  • ability to implement quality programs for youth
  • ability to build and maintain relationships with youth, parents, and stakeholders
  • ability to handle public relations effectively
  • mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure the physical and emotional health and safety of Club members
  • promote and stimulate program participation while ensuring the five key elements for positive youth development daily
  • provide guidance and act as a role model or mentor to assure conduct, safety, and development of all members
  • manage facilities and equipment to maintain a clean and productive work environment
  • maintain close professional contact with staff, supervisor, and volunteers regarding Club operations and member needs
  • adhere to all BGCLC policies and procedures
  • oversee day-to-day flow of Club programs, adjusting and guiding staff as needed
  • assist Club Director with discipline and parent communications
  • manage Club in the absence of Club Director
  • oversee second site during summer if applicable
  • develop, implement, and evaluate programs for members aged 6-18
  • collaborate with Club staff on program scheduling
  • complete impact assessments and meet grant program requirements
  • oversee front desk operations and safety systems
  • assign and supervise interns and practicums
  • participate in staff meetings
  • enhance volunteer recruitment and retention
  • contribute to budget planning and control expenditures
  • consult with parents and guardians on member and Club issues
  • represent BGCLC at community events
  • meet with local school support staff to address youth behavior
  • initiate monthly Club family nights
  • assist with food service following safety protocols
  • adhere to safety protocols and assist with emergency drills
  • implement member behavior and safety plans
  • ensure front desk cleanliness and organization
  • enter and maintain accurate membership information
  • manage waitlists and follow-up communications
  • conduct new member orientations
  • promote Club programs to youth and parents
  • provide program information for marketing and grant reports
  • work special events as needed
  • drive Club van when required
  • handle financial transactions
  • assist with other duties as assigned
