Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred master's degree
  • 1-3 years related experience
  • FAA certificated Flight Instructor/Instrument CFI, CFII Airplane, Single Engine Land
  • Multi-engine Land preferred
  • Minimum 500 hours dual instruction given
  • Proficiency using Microsoft products including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet
  • Strong management, organizational, public relations, technical, and problem-solving skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years' related experience preferred
  • FAA certificated Flight Instructor/Instrument CFI, CFII Airplane, Single Engine Land (Multi-engine Land preferred)
  • Minimum 500 hours dual instruction given
  • Analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet
  • Strong management, organizational, public relations, technical, and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Provide management of assets and job functions of all assigned personnel
  • Ensure the appropriate workload of assigned instructor pilots is maintained
  • Assign students to instructors and monitor their training progress
  • Conduct weekly meetings with teams to coordinate flight operations and enhance Flight Department effectiveness
  • Communicate changes in policy and procedures
  • Schedule student and instructor training events
  • Provide quality flight training and ensure normal progress of assigned students
  • Review, modify, and assist in the completion of required paperwork including progress checks, course completions, withdrawals, extra training, performance evaluations
  • Promote the Embry-Riddle Student Care and Customer Satisfaction programs by counseling students and instructor pilots, developing and implementing action plans, and monitoring student progress
  • Ensure compliance with University Policy and FAA Regulations, verify adherence to Part 141 and Part 142 regulations, notify Chief Flight Instructor of any deviations, and verify instructor pilot schedules
  • Administer assigned phase checks and conduct performance evaluations for flight instructors
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel through weekly reports and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Supervise assistant training managers, flight instructors, student assistants, and flight students assigned to the team
