Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years culinary management experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required licenses including Food Manager Certification
  • Valid health card
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Accurate knife skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and resolve problems with good judgement
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
  • Creative approach to plate presentations
  • Leadership ability
  • Team player willing to assist
  • Knowledge of union environment preferred
  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years culinary management experience in a similar role
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required licenses including Food Manager Certification

  • Accurate knife skills and kitchen management ability

  • Knowledge of union environments preferred

Job Duties

  • Support culinary management in cost control
  • Complete inventories and food requisitions
  • Manage and train kitchen staff
  • Support chef de parties and cooks as necessary
  • Supervise food production at all stations ensuring quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards
  • Encourage team participation in decision making
  • Maintain consistent food quality standards
  • Monitor and improve food quality consistency
  • Ensure availability of safety policies and standards
  • Identify and report workplace safety issues
  • Mentor staff with ongoing coaching
  • Provide employee reward and recognition
  • Involve management in decision processes
