- prefer some operations experience
- Food Handler certification as per local/municipal requirements at applicant's own expense
- ability to stand for long periods
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in hot and noisy kitchen environment
- ability to perform repetitive tasks
- ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- ability to use kitchen equipment such as Chinese knife, wok, deep fryer
- dependable and reliable attendance
- physical ability to reach high shelving with step ladder
Job Qualifications
- Some high school education
- prefer some operations experience
- basic understanding of all operations practices and concepts
- basic knowledge of recipes and cooking activities
- ability to cook rice and chow mein and learn to cook some entrees
- ability to learn basic front of house responsibilities
- understanding of work and food safety and application of safety checklists
- understanding of proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen

Job Duties
- Ensuring workability, intensity & integrity
- performing back of house (BOH) responsibilities as directed by Assistant Chef II and III
- preparing rice and chow mein
- performing cleaning and sanitizing tasks
- operating kitchen equipment including Chinese knife, wok, steamer, deep fryer, and microwave
- maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary store environment
- organizing and properly stocking storage area for utensils and food and non-food items
