Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship or allegiance to the U.S.
- Ability to serve a 1-year trial period
- Compliance with performance and conduct standards during trial
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Subject to background/security investigation
- Completion of required application documents including resume
- Commitment to the ideals of the American republic and federal governance
- Willingness to obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days if not currently certified
- Valid, current REAL ID
- Availability to work full-time in Indianapolis, IN
- Occasional travel availability
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of direct food service and/or retail management experience
- Proven track record of building sales, increasing profits, and developing staff
- Hands-on leadership style with strong emphasis on customer service and hospitality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experienced with POS systems
- ServSafe certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Current, valid REAL ID required
- Associate Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Management preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Support daily operations of Patriot Café, Patriot Retail, and/or Patriot Brew within the VA Medical Center
- Supervise, train, and support assigned personnel to build a motivated, high-performing team
- Deliver and promote outstanding customer service standards for Veterans, staff, and visitors
- Ensure food quality, sanitation, cleanliness, and product availability
- Reinforce adherence to operational policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Assist in managing inventory control, labor costs, and budget performance
- Develop and implement local promotional programs to increase engagement and drive sales
- Report operations, performance, and compliance updates directly to the Canteen Chief
