Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- minimum of 5 years bartending work experience
- strong knowledge of classic cocktail recipes and bar service
- proficiency in point of sale and other hospitality software systems
- excellent communication skills in English
- ability to stand and work for long periods
- ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- food service sanitation certification
- alcohol service permit if required
- ability to adhere to all relevant liquor laws and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and execution of IBA classic cocktail recipes
- working knowledge of software systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, reservation systems, and point of sales systems
- basic mathematical skills for cash register operation and financial transactions
- basic English writing skills for requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers
- sufficient manual dexterity for garnish preparation, glassware handling, and mixing drinks
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- ability to recall and promote menu items
- proficiency in keyboard and point of sale procedures
- ability to stand, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
- physical ability to move heavy loads with wheeled assistance and lift weights up to 75 pounds
- five years minimum bartending work experience
- guest relations and service experience preferred
- food service sanitation certification
- alcohol service permit if required by state
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- high school graduate or equivalent
- WSET Level 1, Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory Level, or Cicerone Level 1 or equivalent preferred
- United States Bartender's Guild member preferred
Job Duties
- Collaborates with Director of Beverage on cocktail, spirit & beer menu development
- spends 80 percent of time on the floor and closes one outlet bar per day during peak season
- provides manager support as needed
- manages inventory, organization, labeling, FIFO, and updates liquor bottle storage areas
- updates beverage pricing based on costs and resort budgets
- updates pricing in Point of Sale System (Agilysys)
- performs daily, weekly, and monthly recipe tastings and pour tests at each bar to maintain consistency
- conducts weekly par checks and order reviews
- leads monthly inventory preparation and count
- works with management and Director of Bars to establish and maintain liquor pars, review deliveries, and communicate variances
- leads bar training for all food and beverage associates
- prepares all batched cocktails, syrups, tinctures, bitters for resort bar service
- ensures resort and Forbes standards are adhered to
- organizes and presents mixology and spirits classes
- schedules seasonal menu changes for spirits and cocktails with food and beverage directors and executives
- maintains proper and adequate O,S&E for bar setup, including requisitioning and stocking supplies based on in-house forecasting
- ensures proper inventory, preparation, and storing of fresh fruit, vegetables, juices, and perishables
- maintains security of bar equipment and inventory
- greets guests courteously and promotes and documents drink orders, mixes and garnishes drinks using standard recipes, practices portion control, checks guests for proper ID, detects and acts upon guest inebriation, demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws
- inputs orders into register and creates checks for each guest
- attends mandatory meetings
- performs general cleaning tasks to maintain health and safety standards
- keeps work area clean and organized
- completes other duties as assigned, including assisting security with disorderly guests
- adheres to all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations
