Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in event management, food and beverage, or related field
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Commitment to uphold Marriott's standards and policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Knowledge of food and wine pairings and event presentation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Understanding of sanitation and safety standards
  • Basic inventory and cost control skills

Job Duties

  • Assist in managing departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain attendance log for banquet employees
  • Maintain and enforce established sanitation levels
  • Adhere to and reinforce all standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure employee awareness of the event phase portion of the Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores
  • Order supplies for the department such as china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment needs
  • Use banquet beverage records to guide beverage supervisor in controlling liquor costs and inventory
  • Understand the impact of banquet operations on event success and manage activities to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Assist in scheduling banquet service staff to forecast and service standards
  • Attend and participate in meetings
  • Lead shifts and participate actively in servicing events
  • Apply and broaden knowledge of food and wine pairings and event presentation
  • Set a positive example for guest relations
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Support departmental orientation and new hire training
  • Ensure employees understand job expectations
  • Provide feedback on service behaviors
  • Review guest satisfaction results with employees
  • Communicate and execute emergency and safety procedures and training
