Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Ability to manage departmental inventories and maintain equipment
- Strong knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
- Proven leadership skills to assist in managing banquet staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for guest interaction
- Ability to handle guest complaints professionally and effectively
- Capable of scheduling and staffing to meet operational needs
- Basic understanding of food and wine pairings and event presentation
- Commitment to exceptional customer service and team development
- Familiarity with emergency procedures and staff training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of experience in event management or related hospitality roles
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop banquet teams
- Strong organizational skills for inventory and staff management
- Proficient in enforcing sanitation and safety protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills related to guest services
- Effective communication skills for interacting with guests and staff
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage operations including liquor inventory
- Experience in scheduling and coordinating event staff
- Commitment to continuous learning in food, wine, and event presentation trends
Job Duties
- Assists in managing departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment
- Maintains attendance log for banquet employees
- Maintains and enforces established sanitation levels
- Adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures
- Ensures employee awareness of the event phase portion of the Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores
- Orders supplies for the department including china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment needs
- Uses banquet beverage records to guide the banquet beverage supervisor in controlling liquor costs, managing inventory, and requisitioning liquor
- Understands the impact banquet operations have on overall event success and manages activities to maximize customer satisfaction
- Assists in scheduling banquet service staff to forecast and service standards while maximizing profits
- Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings
- Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events
- Applies and broadens knowledge of food and wine pairings, cutting edge cuisine, and event presentation
- Sets a positive example for guest relations
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
- Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
- Strives to improve service performance
- Supports departmental orientation and new hire training
- Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters
- Observes service behaviors and provides feedback
- Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
- Communicates and executes departmental and property emergency procedures and ensures staff are trained in safety procedures
