Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum two years of experience in event management or food and beverage
  • availability to work full time
  • physical ability to perform duties including standing for extended periods
  • reliable and punctual
  • good communication skills
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • strong understanding of banquet operations
  • ability to manage staff and schedules
  • knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • capable of handling guest complaints effectively
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • willingness to participate in continuous learning and development

Job Duties

  • Assists in managing departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment
  • maintains attendance log for banquet employees
  • maintains and enforces established sanitation levels
  • adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures
  • ensures employee awareness of the event phase portion of the Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores
  • orders supplies for the department such as china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment needs
  • uses banquet beverage records to guide banquet beverage supervisor in controlling liquor costs and managing inventory
  • understands the impact of banquet operations on overall event success and manages activities to maximize customer satisfaction
  • assists in scheduling banquet service staff to forecast service standards while maximizing profits
  • attends and participates in all pertinent meetings
  • leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events
  • applies and broadens knowledge of food and wine pairings and event presentation
  • sets a positive example for guest relations
  • interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
  • empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
  • strives to improve service performance
  • supports departmental orientation program for new employees
  • ensures employees understand expectations and parameters
  • observes service behaviors and provides feedback
  • reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
  • communicates and executes departmental and property emergency procedures
  • ensures staff are trained in safety protocols
