Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of two years retail grocery experience
- minimum of two years supervisory experience
- ability to work flexible and changing schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to operate bakery equipment and tools safely
- capable of performing physical tasks such as standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs
- food handler’s permit or willingness to obtain
- knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- dependable and reliable
- able to work in a fast-paced environment without mechanical assistance
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience
- be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes, including night, weekends, and holidays
- have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior and positive attitude with the ability to interact with customers
- have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping in the department including cleaning and sanitizing work area
- be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
- be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
- adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
- responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
- execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
- ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
- unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
- ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
