Job Requirements

  • minimum of two years' retail grocery experience
  • minimum of two years supervisory experience
  • be at least 18 years of age
  • ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • positive attitude with outgoing and friendly behavior
  • good communication skills
  • ability to give and take direction in a team environment
  • able to answer phones and take special orders
  • ability to clean and sanitize work area
  • capable of operating bakery and stock equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • ability to stand continuously for up to 3 hours within an 8 hour shift
  • ability to lift and transfer trays and items up to 40 lbs. manually
  • compliance with food safety and health regulations including obtaining and maintaining a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience
  • be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers
  • have good communication skills
  • and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping in the department
  • clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.)
  • be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
  • uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • this role also requires vertically transferring tray up to 5 lbs., from 7 to 64 inches for up to 10 hours, and vertically/horizontally transferring items up to 40 lbs., from 5 to 36 inches, for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
  • adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations, and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • assist the bakery manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
  • responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the bakery team
  • execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • monitor incoming cases for damaged items
  • ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of bakery product
  • unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
  • ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other bakery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
