Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of two years retail grocery experience
- at least two years supervisory experience
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- food handlers permit
- knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- dependable and punctual
- capable of operating bakery equipment and handling deliveries
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age
- have a minimum of two years retail grocery experience
- have two years supervisory experience
- be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- have good communication skills
- ability to give and take direction in a team environment
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping and sanitizing of work area
- be able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- knowledge of scales and weighing to accurately label products
- ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for 8 hours per shift
- able to lift and transfer items up to 40 lbs safely
- adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
- achieve and maintain a food handlers permit
Job Duties
- assist the bakery manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
- responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the bakery team
- execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
- ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of bakery product
- unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
- ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other bakery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
