Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience
  • have two years supervisory experience
  • be dependable and reliable
  • have the ability to work flexible schedules including night, weekends, and holidays
  • show outgoing and friendly behavior
  • have a positive attitude
  • have good communication skills
  • be able to give and take direction
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitize the work area
  • be able to operate kitchen and bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • be able to vertically transfer trays and items up to 40 lbs without mechanical assistance
  • adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

  • clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.)
  • be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
  • uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
  • responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
  • execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
  • ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
  • unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
  • ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
