Job Requirements
- minimum of two years' retail grocery experience
- two years supervisory experience
- be at least 18 years of age

- ability to answer phones and take special orders
- ability to perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties
- ability to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- physical ability to stand for long periods and lift/move trays and items up to specified weights
- adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience
- be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes including night, weekends, and holidays
- have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers
- have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping in the department, clean and sanitize work area including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.
- be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
- use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
- be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
- be able to transfer trays up to 5 lbs. vertically from 7 inches to 64 inches for up to 10 hours, and transfer items up to 40 lbs. vertically/horizontally for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
- adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- assist the bakery manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
- responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the bakery team
- execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
- ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of bakery product
- unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
- ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other bakery team members are also following these procedures
