Job Requirements

  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, total 8 hours per shift
  • Able to transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7 to 64 inches and items up to 40 lbs from 5 to 36 inches for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
  • Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
  • Be able to operate bakery-related equipment such as knives, scales, compactors, and pallet jacks
  • Have good communication skills and ability to give and take directions
  • Be at least 18 years of age with retail grocery and supervisory experience

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience
  • Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have an outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
  • Be able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • Monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
  • Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
  • Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members follow these procedures
