Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • at least 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • good communication skills in English
  • proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) advantageous
  • basic understanding of profit and loss management
  • good computer skills in MS Office
  • well versed with workplace health and safety protocols
  • knowledge in merchandise management including inventory control and promotional strategies
  • familiar with bakery tools and equipment
  • strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • ability to work independently and in a team
  • excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Job Qualifications

  • Good communication skills in English, proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is advantageous
  • minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred, demonstrating leadership capabilities
  • basic understanding of profit and loss management, ability to interpret data and market information
  • good computer skills in MS Office
  • well versed with workplace health and safety protocols
  • keen interest and knowledge in merchandise management and implementation, including inventory control and promotional strategies
  • familiar with relevant tools and equipment, able to interpret product labels accurately
  • great organization, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Job Duties

  • Supervise and ensure the quality of the products
  • greet customers by providing good customer service with smile, friendly enthusiasm
  • provide hands on support and assistance to the Department Head in managing department performance and attaining departmental goals
  • manage and supervise department daily operation and staff performance
  • provide coaching, on-the-job training, shadowing, guidance to department staff
  • supervise Bakery Service Assistants, ensure fair distribution of work and daily checklists are strictly executed
  • promote teamwork and create an inclusive working environment
  • manage and control the product inventory in freezer and cooler
  • set up and manage the product display in every special events/holidays
  • be familiar with products ordering, its process and execution
  • follow company's pricing principle and partner closely with the pricing strategies of Merchandising Department
  • conduct quality and inventory control, responsible for the cleanliness, hygiene, equipment and tools maintenance follow up and workplace safety of the department
  • oversee product quality, food safety, freshness and ensure FIFO is strictly practiced within the department
  • maintain and update UPC pricing, verify and ensure product labeling are properly done
  • ensure bread, cake and other pastry products are properly packaged and displayed
  • lead by example by performing all hands on duties required in the Bakery Department
