Job Requirements

  • experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in aquatic program management
  • current certifications in life guarding or life guarding instructor, first aid and CPR
  • ability to obtain water safety instructor and aquatic facilities operator or pool operator certification within 12 months
  • ability to obtain AED and oxygen administration certification within two weeks of reporting
  • resumes must be two pages or less and clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities

  • education including applicable aquatic safety and educational certifications

Job Qualifications

  • demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic programs
  • current certification in life guarding or life guarding instructor
  • certification in first aid and CPR for the professional rescuer or equivalent
  • applicable aquatic safety and educational certifications
  • ability to obtain water safety instructor and aquatic facilities operator or pool operator certification within 12 months
  • ability to obtain AED and oxygen administration certification within two weeks of appointment
  • highly preferred certifications include lifeguard certified (Red Cross), water safety instructor certified (Red Cross), aquatic exercise certified (various agencies)

Job Duties

  • plan and execute aquatic programs
  • manage indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities
  • supervise lifeguards and aquatic staff
  • coordinate swimming lessons and water safety instruction
  • ensure compliance with safety regulations and certification requirements
  • maintain aquatic equipment and facility upkeep
  • respond to aquatic emergencies and administer first aid if necessary
