Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in material preparation or manufacturing preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
  • physical capability to lift up to 80 pounds with assistance
  • strong hand-eye coordination
  • ability to use a tape measure accurately
  • mechanical inclination
  • good attendance record
  • willingness to work overtime and weekends as required
  • ability to work safely in a facility with forklift traffic
  • ability to focus intensely on quality and productivity
  • ability to work in mildly controlled environment with dust and temperature variations

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all skin species and ability to identify defects
  • familiarity with quality specifications and pass/no pass parameters
  • ability to read and interpret tickets, schedules, and tape measures
  • advanced knowledge of SKUs, material cut requirements, and material flow coordination
  • understanding of order tracking and related documents
  • knowledge of door types and table saw operation
  • excellent memory recall
  • high attention to detail
  • mechanical aptitude
  • good math and measurement skills
  • ability to read and write English

Job Duties

  • Read and interpret schedules to pull accurate materials and door skins
  • count and stack skins onto cull boards in correct orientation and order
  • add correct number of cull boards and reject damaged ones
  • inspect and record rejects and return skins to proper locations
  • record schedule numbers, line numbers, stack numbers, date and initials on skin stacks
  • flip over top skin on stacks for restocking
  • highlight and identify special cut skins on schedules
  • measure and set up skins for cutting to width and length based on specifications
  • use tape measure to validate accuracy before and after cuts
  • complete quality inspections ensuring correct orientation, counts, and order
  • perform other duties as assigned by leadership team
