- high school diploma or equivalent
- 0 years of related experience
- good fine motor skills
- willingness and capability to learn new tasks
- good communication skills to effectively interact with peers for training and work flow coordination
- has served at least 180 days on active duty
- is within 12 months of separation or retirement
- will receive an honorable discharge
- has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
- has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- received unit commander written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge program prior to start of internship

- experience related to the fabrication of laser diode bars and arrays or similar manufacturing experience
- 2-year technical associate's degree

Job Duties
- fabricate laser diode bars
- fabricate hard and/or soft solder mounted bar assemblies
- prepare mechanical parts for laser diode array and subassembly builds
- build laser diode arrays
- assemble and test continuous wave (CW) gain modules
