Job Requirements
- must be at least 18 years of age
- authorization to work in the united states or ability to obtain it
- successful completion of background check
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- capability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull weights up to 250 pounds
- willingness to work varied shifts including occasional overnight shifts
- ability to operate bakery equipment safely
- ability to communicate effectively in english and spanish preferred
- willingness to comply with all safety and company policies
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or ged preferred
- 0-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
- strong customer service skills
- exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
- ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters, and price guns according to company guidelines
- ability to work safely in a fast-paced retail environment
- commitment to teamwork and respect for diverse backgrounds
- ability to follow safety and compliance protocols
Job Duties
- create an environment where customers feel welcomed, important, and appreciated
- ensure daily conditions meet company standards for product availability, freshness, quality, and value
- offer product samples, answer product questions, and assist customers in finding or suggesting products
- fulfill customer requests and special orders
- promote confidence and respect among associates through teamwork and communication
- adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- maintain knowledge of inventory/storage conditions and report any discrepancies
- inspect and maintain the quality and freshness of bakery products
- prepare, package, label, and display products accurately for sale
- use production planning tools to produce fresh products and follow discard or markdown processes to reduce waste
- ensure products are kept at proper temperatures and maintain temperature records
- uphold company safety standards, food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity
- comply with all food safety regulations and promptly execute product recalls
- enforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions
- notify management of accidents and report security risks including theft or fraud
- ensure compliance with wage and hour policies
- foster a safety culture within the store
- ensure all associates have necessary safety training and use personal protective equipment
- maintain and report on equipment safety and assist in hazard remediation
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
