Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain it
- successful completion and verification of background check
- strong customer service skills
- operate bakery equipment in accordance with company guidelines
- ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive hand and foot movements
- ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and occasional lifting of up to 250 pounds with assistance
- willingness to work various shifts including occasional nights
- adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
- commitment to safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 0 to 3 years of supervisory or retail experience preferred
- strong customer service skills
- excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
- ability to operate bakery equipment safely including slicers, ovens, scales, and pricing guns
- bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Job Duties
- Create a welcoming environment for customers to feel appreciated and important
- maintain daily availability, freshness, quality, and value of bakery products on shelves
- offer product samples and assist customers with product questions and suggestions
- fulfill customer requests and special orders
- promote teamwork and communicate important information across the department
- maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies
- inspect product freshness and quality and take appropriate actions
- prepare, package, label, and display bakery products for sale
- ensure all products are stored at appropriate temperatures following food safety guidelines
- comply with food safety, sanitation, and productivity standards
- execute timely product recalls and removals ensuring items are protected from customers
- report and help remediate safety hazards
- ensure compliance with wage and hour policies
- cultivate a culture of safety and ensure all associates receive necessary safety training
- use bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, and pricing equipment according to company guidelines
- perform other related duties as assigned
