Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of baking experience preferred
  • completion of pastry or baking culinary courses preferred
  • ability to perform physical activities such as sitting, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • availability to work early morning shifts and occasional weekends and holidays
  • ability to comply with sanitation and food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • One-year baking experience preferred
  • pastry or baking culinary courses preferred
  • understanding of baking procedures and dough preparation
  • ability to manage time and quality under pressure
  • effective communication skills
  • guest service orientation

Job Duties

  • Understand the importance of all baking procedures and recipes
  • skilled at prepping and baking bagels and muffins
  • able to do open bake
  • proficient at making all dough mixtures in a timely manner using correct procedures
  • understand rotation and shelf life of raw dough
  • clean and disinfect work area
  • set-up and break-down work station
  • follow and ensure compliance with sanitation and cleaning procedures
  • know how to proof bagels
  • recognize the importance of time and temperature
  • responsible for opening store on time
  • able to close the entire bakery
  • foster positive interactions with guests in the queue line
  • assist with basic front of house duties in the morning
  • understand all paperwork
