Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years' experience working with youth ages 6-18 years old
- Two years of experience planning and implementing visual arts programs for youth
- Demonstrated ability in a variety of art techniques
- Demonstrated classroom management ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capacity to supervise group work
- Efficient and effective planning and problem solving skills
- Supportive, flexible disposition
- Tech savvy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Work Space and Internet
- Reliable transportation

Job Duties
- Plan lessons in art, crafts, STEAM, and other educational programs as assigned
- Prepare classroom by gathering and setting up materials and monitoring inventory and sourcing supplies
- Develop member drawing, coloring and painting techniques
- Introduce a variety of art genres through guest speakers, specialized art instructors, field trips to art exhibits, and other artistic experiences
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of classroom
- Monitor progress and take action accordingly with emphasis on youth reach and impact
- Assist with Club-wide special events and collaborate with the event manager to prepare for BGCMC's annual fine arts exhibit
- Provide youth a safe, positive environment physically and emotionally
- Uphold high expectations for youth
- Address youth behavior with a positive discipline approach that is fair, firm, consistent and kind
- Work with supervisor to support program needs including Read Naturally and supervise up to 4 Volunteers
- Responsible for conduct as a role model/mentor and mandated reporter
- Contribute to strategic planning and facilitate implementation
- Lead and/or collaborate in off-site BGCMC youth development programs and/or activities
- Provide support to other program departments as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
