Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • must possess reliable transportation
  • must have means of contact such as home or cell phone
  • must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • must present a well-groomed appearance
  • must provide 40 hours of required education including topics such as power to arrest, communication, public relations, liability, officer safety, and crowd control
  • must have valid Guard Card and exposed firearm permit
  • must be able to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally
  • must be able to meet physical demands including standing, walking, climbing, and other law enforcement tasks
  • must be able to work in various environmental conditions including exposure to fumes, noise, and weather
  • must pass all mandatory licensing and security clearances

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one to three months related experience or training
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • knowledge of state and federal laws and casino security procedures
  • ability to write reports and correspondence
  • basic mathematical skills
  • computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Internet
  • ability to operate radios
  • ability to provide first aid and CPR
  • valid California Guard Card and firearm permit
  • valid California driver’s license
  • successful completion of background, psychological, and substance tests
  • strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • ability to maintain professional composure under pressure
  • leadership and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Monitors entrances and exits to prevent unapproved entry
  • monitors casino floor, storage areas, and parking lots
  • directs persons causing disturbances to leave the property
  • observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity
  • assists with temperature screening of employees and patrons
  • issues personal protective equipment
  • patrols casino property checking for unsafe conditions and hazards
  • provides first aid including CPR
  • performs chip pickups, jackpot verifications, and card control duties
  • provides escorts for money and persons handling money
  • enforces state and federal laws as required
  • apprehends suspects and conducts investigations
  • prepares detailed reports and logs
  • assists civil and law enforcement authorities including court testimony
  • performs shipping, receiving, and preventative maintenance duties
  • checks general safety and well-being of casino grounds
