Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited sanitation course and maintain certification
- Two years experience in institutional food service operations
- Preferred experience in supervision of multi-unit operations
- Experience in school food service management, quality assurance, menu planning, and/or catering preferred
- Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills
- Training and presentation skills
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, personal computer operation and math
- Exceptional organizational skills
- HACCP certification
- Knowledge of state requirements for school breakfast and lunch programs

Job Duties
- Supervise assigned sites in areas of personnel, operations, facilities, customer service, food quality, etc.
- Monitor all food purchases, labor cost, and supplies purchases within annual budget or set guidelines
- Monitor and review compliance of HACCP program to assure food safety practices are followed
- Through leadership, ensure consistency by enforcing compliance of best practices, laws, regulations, policies, and emerging technologies related to school food service operations and communicate to appropriate department personnel
- Assume FNS Manager responsibilities when a position is vacant and/or Manager-In-Training is unavailable to sub
- Assess school based departmental needs and make recommendations to department administration to ensure quality service to students and staff
- Observe daily operations and provide training as needed
- Work with office team members or independently develop and facility training for site-based team members
- Responsible for supervising, ensuring, evaluating and auditing assigned sites are in compliance with all districts, local, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Serve as a liaison between the site team members and office team members
- Ensure assigned sites have exceptional food presentation and the general appearance of the kitchen is clean, neat and orderly
- Ensure assigned sites provide exceptional customer service
- Ensure temperature logs are completed correctly and that all food is at the appropriate temperature
- Monitor and complete quality assurance documents as assigned to ensure compliance of programs
- Review production records monthly for all assigned sites to ensure compliance of program
- Review timesheets for assigned team members for any absences or clocking discrepancies, make corrections on timesheets, enter missing absences into absence reporting system, and work with assigned team member to improve compliance with timekeeping and attendance procedures
- Ensure compliance of City of Mesquite Health Inspection guidelines, monitor the scores for assigned sites, and assist FNS Managers with improvement plans when needed
- Be knowledgeable of MISD safety guidelines, implement and enforce as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
