Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- up to three years additional relevant experience may substitute for degree
- minimum five years safety management experience in industrial manufacturing or distribution
- intermediate computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Google applications
- valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle insurance coverage
- available for 24/7 on-call emergency response
- strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA regulations
- ability to travel approximately 75% regionally
Job Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in safety, engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience
- five years of experience in safety management within industrial manufacturing or distribution
- proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and the Google platform (Mail, Calendar, Sheets, Drive)
- valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle with insurance
- ability to be on call 24/7 for emergencies and DOT-related inquiries
- previous industrial gas experience preferred
Job Duties
- Promote and develop safe work behaviors
- assist and coach associates to reduce injuries and vehicle accidents
- plan, administer and support ongoing safety programs to ensure compliance
- liaise between facility and internal and external auditors
- interpret safety policies, regulations and standards to recommend or provide direction
- keep facilities current with regulations concerning DOT, OSHA, EPA, and FDA and implement procedures and control associated documents
- conduct internal audits of governmental disciplines ensuring required documents, training, and safety measures are in place
- plan industrial health and ergonomic risk assessment surveys or analyses
- assure all applicable training is performed at all locations
- meet all compliance and reporting requirements of federal and state regulations
- assist Regional Safety Director in generating monthly safety meetings and data/presentations
- assist in creating training development packages (i.e. videos, Google Slides)
- assist in setting up and maintaining all permits and location files
- assist in medical manual updates, procedures, and control of related documentation
- be active in hazardous material operations including Airgas Emergency Response Organization (AERO) and other state and federal programs (PSM, RMP)
- perform state medical registrations, Tier II reporting, accident investigation and review
- perform other duties as assigned
