Job Requirements

  • Must live in the Chicago area
  • Three plus years of sales leadership experience in the wine and spirits industry
  • Strong understanding of the three-tier system and distributor management
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Concur Expense Management
  • Familiarity with wine and spirits industry data software
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Budget and expense management experience
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • WSET certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license

Job Qualifications

  • Three plus years of sales leadership experience in the wine and spirits industry
  • Strong understanding of the three-tier system, distributor management and key account development
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Concur Expense Management
  • Working knowledge of wine and spirits industry data software such as VIP, SGWS Compass, 3TB, NIQ, SommAi
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience managing budgets and expenses
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • WSET certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Manage distributor relationships to achieve points, depletion and distribution goals
  • Support and collaborate with State Region Manager on inventory, allocations, pricing and localized programming
  • Lead and participate in distributor execution meetings, strategy calls and market check-ins
  • Track and manage distributor KPIs related to wine points, spirit points and national programs
  • Conduct daily and weekly administrative reporting including pricing surveys and scorecards
  • Utilize data analytics and sales reports to inform strategy and improve KPIs
  • Develop and conduct focused distributor and consumer education sessions and events
  • Lead producer and winemaker event planning and execution
  • Identify and develop key accounts within the territory including regional chains and consultants
  • Partner with local sales teams to build targeted account programs
  • Create sales pitches and identify new business opportunities
