Job Requirements

  • Must reside in the sales territory
  • valid driver’s license
  • clean motor vehicle record
  • basic computer proficiency in MS Office
  • 1-2 years experience in foodservice sales
  • high school diploma or GED
  • bilingual Spanish preferred
  • willingness to travel within assigned territory
  • strong customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years foodservice sales related work experience
  • clean motor vehicle record
  • basic computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • bilingual Spanish preferred
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to analyze sales data and develop effective sales strategies

Job Duties

  • Generates additional business through analyzing sales territory and individual customers
  • samples products with existing and potential customers
  • plans general sales strategy including time and territory management
  • plans sales approach with individual customers
  • conducts effective sales presentations
  • grows sales and profit margins on an ongoing basis to meet established sales and margin goals
  • sets up new customer accounts by determining pricing
  • works with Credit Department for initial authorization
  • coordinates with other center personnel for scheduling order-taking and deliveries
  • performs initial follow-up with customer ensuring delivery and product satisfaction
  • ensures customer satisfaction by providing exemplary service and coordinating with center personnel to prevent and resolve customer problems
  • occasionally makes deliveries in emergency situations
  • builds additional business with current customers through product penetration to maximize account profitability
  • monitors accounts receivable to minimize problems and follows up on any issues
  • maintains awareness of pricing trends within territory to ensure competitive pricing
  • performs other related duties as assigned
