Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of human resources experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Knowledge of human resources practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local human resources laws
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment
  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to perform occasional physical activities including twisting, bending, stooping, reaching
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of human resources experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Ability to deal effectively with applicants and associates with tact and diplomacy
  • Thorough knowledge of human resources practices and procedures
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations related to human resources
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff
  • Ability to set priorities, plan, organize and delegate
  • Basic mathematical skills for salary and benefit administration
  • Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Adapt communication style to various audiences

Job Duties

  • Maintain personnel files, records and other documentation per pre-set guidelines
  • Process monthly reports for status change, re-classification, reviews and reports as needed for the department and/or General Manager
  • Assist with training and team member development to include Orientation and all other required training
  • Promote, administer and maintain reports of eligibility for employee benefit and insurance options
  • Assist with recruitment including posting open positions, screening and interviewing and refer applicants to managers based on qualifications
  • Assist with recruitment, staffing and tracking of applicant interview progression
  • Assist in coordination of pre-employment processes
  • Maintain employee files and filing system
  • Assist with employee relations and responding to inquiries regarding human resource transactions
  • Manage confidential matters and protect information regarding team members, guests and company
  • Utilize Outlook to calendar critical due dates for projects and daily activities
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Promote teamwork and remain flexible in the work environment
  • Maintain departmental orientation and training certification programs
  • Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Employee Handbook
  • Monitor employee performance appraisal programs to ensure reviews are timely
  • Actively solicit feedback and address employee concerns
  • Celebrate successes and publicly recognize team contributions
  • Monitor safety programs and Worker’s Compensation Benefits
  • Ensure prompt and proper submission of all required reports
  • Compose and distribute Human Resources correspondence
  • Answer telephone inquiries
  • Maintain employee bulletin boards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Human Resources Director
  • Assist with day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office
  • Implement HR services, policies and programs
  • Develop an employee-oriented culture emphasizing quality, continuous improvement and service excellence
