Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years' hotel sales leadership experience
- Experience in multi-hotel regional sales oversight preferred
- Knowledge of sales automation and PMS systems
- Ability to analyze market trends and sales data
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate sales teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Experience interacting with ownership and asset management
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Business or Marketing preferred
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Director of Sales & Marketing or sales leader with prior hotel sales experience
- Preferred experience in area or regional sales oversight of multiple hotels
- Proven experience in dealing with ownership groups and asset management
- Proficiency in sales automation systems such as DELPHI and property management systems
- Experience collaborating with revenue management and operations teams
- Comprehensive knowledge of market segments and distribution channels with strategic planning capability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, train, and drive a direct sales team fostering a competitive and cooperative culture
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
Job Duties
- Lead and drive top line revenue for group and volume transient sales segments for the primary hotel and other assigned area hotels
- Assess and respond to market trends, market share, and competitive hotel environment
- Develop and implement marketing communications plans to achieve desired hotel positioning and manage sales and marketing budgets
- Act as the hotel's voice of the customer and communicate key issues and concerns at all organizational levels
- Utilize Smith Travel Research data, financial P&L, sales mix, forecasting, group pace, and various hotel reports to guide strategy
- Conduct competitive set reviews, SWOT analyses, and monitor new supply
- Develop strategies to penetrate primary geographic markets
- Manage key accounts and segment strategy
- Design sales deployment schemes and market assignments
- Set sales goals aligned with budget and market share targets
- Oversee group pace measurement and set sales production targets
- Manage sales activity and travel schedules
- Serve as lead in managing owner relations and communications for the primary and assigned hotels
