Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years DOSM or sales leadership experience in hotel sales
  • Proven area or regional sales oversight experience preferred
  • Experience liaising with ownership groups and asset management
  • Proficiency in sales automation and PMS systems
  • Demonstrated collaboration with revenue management and operations
  • Well-rounded market segment knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership ability in team management
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Business or Marketing preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a DOSM or sales leader with hotel sales experience
  • Preferably experience with area or regional sales oversight of multiple hotels
  • Experience working with ownership groups and asset management
  • Proficient in sales automation systems such as DELPHI or alternatives and PMS systems
  • Experience collaborating with revenue management and operations teams
  • Knowledge of market segments and channel distribution sources with ability to develop strategic plans
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to direct, train, motivate, and lead a direct sales team fostering a cooperative and competitive spirit
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines

Job Duties

  • Lead and drive top line revenue for customary sales segments including group and volume transient for the primary hotel
  • Provide oversight to sales leaders at other assigned area hotels
  • Assess and react to market trends, market share, and competitive hotel environment
  • Develop and implement marketing communications plan and manage sales and marketing budget
  • Act as the hotel's voice of the customer and communicate key issues and concerns throughout the organization
  • Use Smith Travel Research data, financial P&L, sales mix, forecasting, group pace, and hotel reporting to drive results
  • Conduct competitive set reviews, SWOT analysis, and monitor new supply
  • Develop and implement key segment strategy and manage key accounts
  • Design effective sales deployment schemes and market assignments
  • Set sales goals to achieve budget and market share targets
  • Manage group pace measurement and set sales production goals
  • Manage sales activity and travel schedule
  • Lead and manage owner relations, communications, and expectations for assigned hotels
