Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a vehicle

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to identify and address customer opportunities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with SFA and ESSIS strongly preferred
  • Previous experience as a Catering and Events Manager or Supervisor preferred
  • Must be able to effectively lead and motivate a team
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a vehicle

Job Duties

  • Own catering and group sales for corporate and entertainment segments
  • Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with customers
  • Coordinate sales-driven room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
  • Identify operational challenges and collaborate with property teams and customers to develop solutions
  • Participate in customer site inspections
  • Strengthen community relations by ensuring property participation in tradeshows and client events
  • Conduct sales calls with Sales and Marketing to acquire or close business
  • Identify PR opportunities and coordinate marketing communication activities
  • Forecast group sleeping rooms and catering revenue
  • Support General Manager in crisis communications
  • Partner with Human Resources, Engineering, and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance
  • Execute and support Service and Brand Standards
  • Manage proactive account relationships and RFPs
  • Utilize sales and negotiation skills to close business
  • Maintain up-to-date account information and build business relationships
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries
  • Build customer loyalty and improve ease of doing business
  • Negotiate contract terms and influence customer decisions
  • Collect and analyze key customer business information
  • Develop strong partnerships with local buyers
  • Monitor and communicate lead status
  • Perform consistently in sales and identify new accounts
  • Inform leadership of trends and market changes
  • Maintain knowledge of Marriott brands and business strategies
  • Develop coordinated sales efforts with operations
  • Drive customer loyalty through excellent service
  • Resolve guest issues arising from sales process.
