Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business hospitality or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in hotel sales or a closely related industry
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful sales strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work varying schedules including travel as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and sales management software
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate a sales team effectively
  • Adherence to attendance policies and company standards

Job Qualifications

  • Strong business communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
  • 5 years of proven hotel leadership and sales experience or equivalent
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and results driven leadership skills
  • High work ethic and self initiative
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite and sales systems
  • Ability to lead departmental and hotel team meetings
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff managers corporate staff and ownership
  • Must maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
  • Basic computational ability

Job Duties

  • Develop sales strategies for the property including targeted market segments rate management solicitation procedures and advertising
  • Develop a realistic and aggressive annual marketing plan and update it monthly
  • Create quarterly action plans tied to the annual marketing plan for each sales team member
  • Forecast group production and top line revenue on a weekly basis and provide updates to management
  • Emphasize control procedures and yield management to balance rate availability and market demand
  • Establish and execute an effective outside sales program
  • Achieve all assigned KPIs and ensure sales and marketing staff meet their goals
  • Train and hold sales staff accountable to actionable results
  • Conduct one-on-ones and monthly check-ins with sales team members
  • Direct internal servicing of groups and ensure department heads have necessary documents
  • Participate in weekly revenue and digital marketing calls
  • Submit weekly expense reports and prepare sales reports for ownership or management
