Job Duties
- Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships
- Assist, as required, with store operations
- Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner
- Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy
- Handle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization
- Ensure that store is sufficiently stocked and ragged out in accordance with the ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR
- Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property
- Immediately report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management
- Maintain a clean and clutter free work area
- Be well-versed in and comply with Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual
- Support work therapy program by providing example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision as directed
- Perform cashier and sales floor duties adhering to cash handling and security standards
- Sort, price, stock and rag out showcase merchandise
- Restock fitting room merchandise
- Maintain merchandise displays
- Answer telephone calls professionally
- Sort store quality garments by department
- Assist with moving donations and hanging merchandise
- Hang and ticket clothing on rolling racks
- Price garments based on style, quality and condition
- Place garments on proper racks by department, category and color order
- Sort and clean miscellaneous merchandise
- Ticket merchandise and assign fair market prices
- Sort and process shoes, handbags, and accessories maintaining required order and manner
- Sort, measure and ticket linens
- Sort, clean and ticket books, records and toys
- Sort, clean and test furniture and electrical items
- Accept donations courteously
- Maintain cleanliness of sales floor and donation facilities
- Safeguard donated materials and equipment
- Perform lawn and garden work as needed
