Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Prior experience as a cook, sous chef, or grill cook (1-2 years preferred)
  • Ability to prepare high quality food for residents
  • Flexibility with schedule may be required, with the occasional need to work earlier hours than dinner shift
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with staff and residents
  • CPR and first aid training may be required per state or local guidelines
  • Successful completion of recognized food safety course as required by state or local guidelines
  • Completion of background check, drug screen, and or pre-employment tasks such as fingerprint and physical may be required in certain locations per state or local requirements
  • The ability to push, pull, or carry up to 30 lbs

Job Duties

  • Prepares food that meets or exceeds hospitality and service standards of the community
  • Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling in compliance with State, Federal, and DSHS regulations
  • Planning and developing menus
  • Preparing meals
  • Purchasing and managing inventory
  • Clean equipment, utensils and appliances and store food supplies
  • Assure compliance with kitchen sanitation and safety procedures and regulations
  • Interacting with guests on a daily basis
  • Participating in a Food Service Committee
  • Participate in hiring, development and training of servers
  • Prepare food for special events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
