Job Qualifications

- Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly dining environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of menu items and ingredients
Job Duties
- Conduct pre-meal set up including filling water pitchers, filling butter containers, placing linens and setting out dinnerware and utensils
- Explain menu selections to residents and/or guests to ensure full awareness of all available menu items and ingredients
- Take all food orders clearly and precisely
- Assure quality table service by utilizing proper service techniques and exhibiting a cheerful, courteous and positive attitude
- Time delivery of food from the kitchen and expedite food delivery to residents ensuring correct sequence and temperature
- Conduct post meal clean-up including removing all dinnerware to kitchen, vacuuming dining room, and cleaning chairs
- Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene and adhere to department uniform policy including the wearing of an Arbor Rose authorized name tag
- Promote an environment that results in resident satisfaction by exhibiting a positive attitude and timely response to resident needs
- Follow department and Arbor Rose policies, procedures, and federal, state and local laws
- Keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazards
- Distribute and collect menus as necessary
- Obtain food supplies for next meal as directed
- Perform all other duties consistent with education and skills required for this position
