Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- current lifeguard certification
- current CPR and first aid certification
- must be able to pass criminal background check
- must pass tuberculosis screening
- must pass physical examination
- must pass drug screening
- ability to work flexible hours
- availability during aquatics season (march to august)

- experience in aquatic safety and supervision
- ability to work varying hours, days, and shifts
- good communication and customer service skills
- ability to instruct swimming classes
Job Duties
- ensure the safety of patrons of aquatic facilities by preventing and responding to emergencies
- provide courteous and expeditious customer service to the general public and City department staff
- supervise swimming activities in and around City facilities
- rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning
- administer first aid in the event of injury
- assist in cleaning the pool related facilities and equipment
- instruct classes in the fundamentals of swimming
- adhere to and maintain a positive attitude towards the City and Department goals
- perform other related work as required
