Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
- Experience in lifeguarding and swim instruction
- One to two years related coordination experience preferred
- Positive attitude
- Experience with diverse populations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Customer service and public relations skills
- Computer knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of aquatic safety standards
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred
- Ability to complete required trainings
- Ability to pass background and reference checks
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred
- Experience in lifeguarding and swim instruction
- One to two years related experience preferred as a coordinator of people or activities
- Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations
- Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of current aquatic safety and program standards, latest trends in aquatics and the ability to articulate and incorporate them preferred
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred
- Willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and complete other required training
- Must be able to pass background and reference checks in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act
Job Duties
- Assist with member relations and involvement including member service inquiries, complaints and concerns related to the aquatics department
- Responsible for new program sign-ups and program needs
- May process financial assistance requests
- Assist with the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of staff
- Attend regular staff meetings and assist as needed
- Ensure program requirements are enforced
- Assist with promoting program awareness through publications, marketing materials, and member promotion programs
- Participate in community and facility events
- Know and review all emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures
- Assist with fundraising and special event efforts
- Serve as a staff liaison for fundraising team
- Provide staff leadership for branch special events
- Follow and enforce safety standards, policies and procedures
