Job Requirements
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to swim and perform water rescues, CPR and First Aid
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as assigned
- Possession of valid California Driver License
- Possession of valid CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Instructor Certification at time of appointment
- Possession of Certified Pool Operator or Aquatics Facility Operator, Los Angeles County Pool Technician License, and Food Handler Manager certification required within one year of appointment
- Three years of increasingly responsible aquatics experience including supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Public Administration, Business Administration, Education, Physical Education, or a related field

- Certified pool and spa operator and/or aquatic facility operator experience and training is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations governing aquatic safety and operations
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Ability to exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact
- Ability to train and supervise subordinates effectively
- Ability to develop community programs based on community needs
- Ability to swim and perform water rescues
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Instructor Certification at time of appointment
Job Duties
- Assists with the planning, development, and coordination of aquatics programming, activities, and special events
- Assists with ensuring safety and compliance with all applicable standards for Aquatics Center operations
- Supervises Aquatics Center food service operations and ensures compliance with State and County health safety codes
- Supervises Aquatics Center front desk and retail store operations
- Oversees group rentals, rental contracts, film permits and related activities
- Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates hourly part-time staff and volunteers
- Assists with the preparation and monitoring of budget expenditures and revenues pertaining to the Aquatics Center
- Prepares reports, analysis, agenda items, grants, and memos as needed
