The Community Services department, specifically focusing on Recreation, is currently seeking a dedicated Aquatic Center Supervisor to join our team. Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in leisure services, recreation, physical education, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum three years' recreation or aquatic experience with programming, lifeguarding, teaching/training, and special events
- At least two years of supervisory experience
- Must possess and maintain American Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent
- Ability to obtain within six months and maintain American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer and Water Safety Instructor Trainer certifications
- Ability to obtain within 30 days and maintain American Red Cross Oxygen Administration, Bloodborne Pathogens, and AED certifications
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam
- Passing a competency water skills test
- Successfully complete a background investigation
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in leisure services, recreation, physical education, or related field or equivalent experience
- Three years' experience in recreation or aquatic roles including programming, lifeguarding, training, and special events
- Two years' supervisory experience
- Possession of American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR or equivalent
- Ability to obtain Lifeguard Instructor Trainer and Water Safety Instructor Trainer certifications within six months
- Ability to obtain American Red Cross Oxygen Administration, Bloodborne Pathogens, and AED certifications within 30 days
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical exam and competency water skills test
- Background investigation clearance
Job Duties
- Plan and schedule all aquatic center programs
- Oversee and schedule lifeguards to ensure full coverage
- Supervise and train lifeguards to maintain safety standards
- Perform administrative duties related to staff and pool operations
- Develop strategies to enhance service, appearance, and efficiency at the aquatic center
- Ensure the safety of patrons and staff
- Maintain confidentiality of privileged information
